Your help can save lives.

In the Middle East and North Africa, millions of people are fleeing terror and death.
We can make a difference.
There's always hope.
The Magic Carpet meals will be held every
4th Saturday evening of the month.

In these often so bleak times, we are delighted to share some good news from a charity in Wolverhampton.

We were fortunate to meet Henok at our refugee picnic at Clissett Wood in summer this year. At the time, life wasn’t easy for him. He had come to Wolverhampton as an asylum seeker from Ethiopia and has both helped and been helped by charities there. Bright, motivated and fluent in several languages – and, despite many personal difficulties at that time, he still managed to regularly volunteer at Wolverhampton’s Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC). This he continues to do.

Asylum seekers in the UK are barred from paid work until their claims are processed. Voluntary work can be a good route to get language skills, improve well-being, and
give something back to the community.

We are happy to say that for the time being, he is in a more stable position
and his situation has improved.

Here is a link where he speaks about his role as a volunteer, supporting immigration case workers in translating and communicating with their clients.

Accessing help and hope is impossible for many asylum seekers and refugees in Bristol due to trauma, destitution and ill health and being housed far from the services available.

Picture
Aid Box Community are hoping to buy a second hand small van
with no less that three seats, with this we can assist the most vulnerable people to access our service and deliver even more donated items to people  who are rebuilding their life from scratch.
We are about to start a woman’s group for isolated and traumatised
refugee woman in Bristol. We would love to be able to collect them from their homes as many find public transport far too scary.

Please help us raise the funds to buy, maintain, insure and run this vehicle that will bring hope and help to so many.

TOGETHER WE CAN SPREAD LOVE AND HOPE ❤️

£5, £10, £20, £100 or more, we are not fussy!
In return we are sending you a warm feeling in your heart

The Roving Crows concert, with supporting musicians, at Hellens Manor supporting
LRS  was a great success!

All the musicians showed us that people are, fundamentally, the same the world over as the
atmosphere in the barn filled with the joy of dancing and sharing music.
To see many more photos from the evening, visit our Facebook page

Please come into Handley Organics to get your tickets for the Roving Crows concert, or ring 01531 631136, to pay and reserve. A donation even if you can't attend is never spurned! It will be a great night and tickets are limited so hurry and buy some.

T shirts supporting LRS available too, so buy one to wear on the night and show your added support.
