This is what we can do.The human catastrophe across North Africa and the Middle East has forced millions of people to abandon their homes, their belongings and their jobs. They have nothing.
All the little things we take for granted are gone. Water. Clean clothes. A warm bed. Everyone can make a contribution: from a toothbrush or a spare blanket, a waterproof pair of shoes, or some nappies, we can make a difference. Please be generous.

Emergency KitsKits for kids, women and children are a brilliant help. See here.
If you can gather together essential personal items into a strong bag, (or better in a shoe box) and deliver to our base at Handley Organics, thank you. Mark them for women, men or kids: Toothbrush, toothpaste, liquid hand gel, sanitary towels, nappies and sacks (bio-degradable), baby wipes moist toilet paper, disposable razors, condoms, shampoo, hair brush/comb, hair ties, crayons and colouring books, tiny toys: think what would make your family's life more bearable. |
Deliver in LedburyYou can drop off your donations at Handley Organics by the Market House in town. It will be sorted and passed on to the aid agencies' depots.

Clothes and EquipmentHomeless people have nothing. They need warm, waterproof, lightweight clothes and bedding.
Tents and groundsheets provide shelter. Rucksacks are a huge help to carry your belongings. Packets of festival ponchos are good to keep the rain out. Everything must be spotlessly clean and in good condition. Everybody forgets about socks and shoes: refugees from hot countries are not used to a cold, wet climate. Keeping your stuff clean is a nightmare. Fleeces and man-made thermal fabrics are a godsend. They wash and dry easily. Our friends come in all shapes and sizes: babies, boys and girls, teenagers, older men and women. |
